Our charter is the promotion and encouragement of organized, competitive Sporting Clays shooting within the state of California. To this end, we seek to increase the knowledge of the safe handling and proper care of firearms as well as improved shotgun marksmanship education and to develop amongst shooters the characteristics of honesty, fellowship, self-discipline, team play and self-reliance, which are the essentials of good sportsmanship.

All California (resident) individual and club members in good standing with the National Sporting Clays Association are automatically members of the California Sporting Clays Association. The CSCA assists member clubs throughout the state by coordinating event schedules, providing a liaison with the NSCA staff, and representing California sporting clays sports men and women at the national level. California currently has over 1200 CSCA/NSCA members, making it the third largest state membership (2010), who shoot over 600,000 registered targets each year. We have 15 NSCA registered clubs, 13 of which host registered NSCA competitive shoots throughout the year.

1-25-12 $10,000 Added Money at 2012 CA State Championship!

Registration is open for the 2012 California State Championship to be held at Mike Raahague's Shooting Enterprises in Corona, June 7th - 10th. Not only that, but there will be a variety of guns to be raffled, one for each class and concurrent. Click here for the shoot flyer and complete details.

9-6-11 2012 CA National Delegates

Congratulations to Richard Arrowood, George Dana, Richard McCready, Chris Stephens, and Alexandra Wampler on being elected as the 2012-2013 NSCA National Delegates representing California. Since the CSCA bylaws make these National Delegates members of the board of the CSCA, starting January 1st, 2012, the board will shrink slightly to a total of 10 from the current 12, since McCready and Stephens are also elected board directors. 7-15-11 Major Events Page Updated

Click on Events/Major Events above to see an updated schedule for the remainder of 2011 and some major events for 2012, including all regional Championships, the US Open, and NSCA Nationals, and the International Sporting (FITASC) World Championships. Remember that starting in 2012, five Regions replace the seven Zones we have in the US today. A new points race, the NSCA Championship Tour, is being added and will take points generated at all the Regional Championships plus the Open and Nationals. In addition, the Regional Championships are also TeamUSA selection shoots. See the NSCA website for details.

6-24-11 Time for 2012-2013 National Delegate Nominations

Nomination forms for all national Delegates are due no later than 7-21-11. If you are interested in running for one California's five national delegates, you need to download the form and get five current California NSCA members to provide an endorsement. The requirements to run for a delegate position are as follows:

  • You must be a current member of NSCA.
  • You must have shot 500 targets in 2010.
  • You must shoot 500 targets in 2011 before December 31, 2011.
  • Your nomination form must be signed by five (5) current members of NSCA currently living in your state/country.
  • The person who is being nominated must also sign the nomination form, indicating he/she is willing to accept the position as Delegate if elected.
  • All nomination forms must be received at NSCA Headquarters no later than July 21, 2011.
  • Ballots will be mailed on August 1, 2011 to all California NSCA members current at that time.
